How Can I Cook It?
Roast, slow cook, braise – oh let me count the ways!
A whole chicken is an easy way to feed a family and does not require much effort. It can be as simple as seasoning the outside of the bird and roasting until the thickest part of the breast probes to 165 degrees. However, there are some ways to really spice up this classic meal. Try it in classic Oktoberfest style, with salt, pepper, paprika, browned butter, and parsley. Or try it rubbed with herbs de provence and butter, and stuffed with sweet onion and carrots. If you want to take it to the next level, we suggest thawing and brining your chicken overnight in a brine of salt, sugar, apple cider vinegar, pineapple juice, and cayenne pepper, then smoking with apple wood for a juicy take on bbq chicken.
